assesment
what have i learn, well we learn't about Google and what google is capable of, Blogger and HTML scripting buy making basic web page and hyperlinks, the importance of flicvkr and having some sort of online precence. We also learn't about about delicious as another way of having an online precence and a better way of adding online applications to your web browsing experience and we also dabbled in CSS with coustom templates etc. we also got our athene accounts up and used FTP to make our own website using iweb, we also were introdused to other web applications such as web counters and TECHNORATI.
week11: Technorati
DOH! THE TECHNORATI MONSTER SEEMS TO HAVE ESCAPED...
technorati is a website which monitors your blog, and other peoples blogs, what it does it keeps a running total of 'awards' and the more you have the popular your site is and the more people will find it. its cool if your a starting artist and want to have your stuff out there so everyone can see, only if you get it working...
Week 10: Counters and RSS
A web counter is a html/javascript addon that counts how many times a website or certain page has been viewed. Most counters count the number of unique hits a page gets while others count how many times a page was viewed even if the same person viewed it more than once
RSS:
RSS is a cool little thing that lets you keep a constant update of your favourite webpage or of a news orientated website, its a page that you view that has the contaent that you want and in a simple view. blogger can also have a "element" that allows you to have a constant uptated RSS feed of news and other blogs.
MPI104_2009 Assessment #1
In week one we were introduced to the subject and to see if our athene account was made, which it was so we had one less thing to do for MPI. The sewcond week we learnt more about google and google accounts, since i've been using google for some time i still find it interesting on how its has become more than a search engine and plain email to something more complex, yet simple with its google docs, calender and igoogle. my thoughts on google can bee found here
week three we were introduced to blogger, again i've bee non blogger a long time but im not much of a person to blog about things, its just somthing i find hard to do. my first post for blogger can be found here.
week four we made our way over to a place called flickr.com, flickr is an image uploading website that a wide range of people use, i made an account and posted up a few images and i found flickr to be useful tool for up coming photographers to help get trhere stuff out there. a post about flicker can me found here
week five was all about del.icio.us, this is a bookmarking website, so instead of using your bookmarink tabs, you have a whole website dedicated to it, you also have other people online who sow other new websites that are up and coming that you can veiw so its sorta like an online community network site with bookmarking, pretty cool. my post on delicious

My Thoughts on CSS
CSS are a fundamentally a good way of changing the design layout, its a little complicated to understand and find were you want to change, say a certain colour, but overall its an interesting way to keep organized. it also helps with people that have vision impairments, say someone needs bigger typeface to see so using CSS you can change the size of the type to whatever size you need it to. An example of CSS is in fire fox, opening blooger you can view what the page would look like without the CSS coding, it comes up maily as text, blogger has used CSS as away to build up the design layout around the text. CSS does have flaws in its glory, one is Inconsistent browser support, some browsers somtimes veiw CSS differently to others or not at all (generally older versions of internet explorer). though its awesome and useful few people recomend it for design layout, but for more styling eg. type.
(ps i changed the layout etc with a pre existing template found at http://btemplates.com/
Direct Quote from wikipedia:
Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) is a style sheet language used to describe the presentation (that is, the look and formatting) of a document written in a markup language. Its most common application is to styleweb pages written in HTML and XHTML, but the language can be applied to any kind of XML document, including SVG and XUL.
CSS is designed primarily to enable the separation of document content (written in HTML or a similar markup language) from document presentation, including elements such as the colors, fonts, and layout. This separation can improve content accessibility, provide more flexibility and control in the specification of presentation characteristics, enable multiple pages to share formatting, and reduce complexity and repetition in the structural content (such as by allowing for tableless web design). CSS can also allow the same markup page to be presented in different styles for different rendering methods, such as on-screen, in print, by voice (when read out by a speech-based browser or screen reader) and on Braille-based, tactile devices. While the author of a document typically links that document to a CSS stylesheet, readers can use a different stylesheet, perhaps one on their own computer, to override the one the author has specified.
Accessibility is a general term used to describe the degree to which a product (e.g., device, service, environment) is accessible by as many people as possible. Accessibility can be viewed as the "ability to access" the functionality, and possible benefit, of some system or entity. Accessibility is often used to focus on people with disabilities and their right of access to entities, often through use of assistive technology. Several definitions of accessibility refer directly to access-based individual rights laws and regulations. Products or services designed to meet these regulations are often termed Easy Access or Accessible.
